Calgary scientist grows brain cells on microchip
Calgary - Researchers in Calgary and Germany have pulled off a groundbreaking melding of machine and biology by successfully growing brain nerve cells from a snail on a silicon microchip.
Not only did the transplanted cells survive on the chip but they actually grew and incorporated the chip as it if were a brain cell.
I'm not dead sure whether this article terrifies or reassures me, but it's sure interesting, one way or the other.
