US: TV EVANGELIST SAYS ISRAELI PREMIER'S STROKE IS DIVINE RETRIBUTION

Virginia Beach, 6 Jan. (AKI) Conservative Christian evangelical broadcaster Pat Robertson has claimed Israel's prime minister Ariel Sharon's massive and probably fatal stroke this week was divine retribution for ordering his country's withdrawal from the Gaza Strip and four West Bank settlements last August-September, after 38 years of occupation, Israeli daily Haaretz reported on Friday.

I suspect that reputable news sources started working on this story as soon as Sharon got sick; it was, after all, inevitable.
